SpatialEngine
SpatialEngine is a runtime for rendering, querying, and editing spatial data. Your application controls it through statements and places its viewport inside your UI.
Use the native binary from Python or another gRPC client. Use the npm package to run the WebAssembly engine inside a browser. The native engine runs without a desktop window and serves its own browser viewport.
| Task | Guide |
|---|---|
| Start a native engine and connect Python | Python SDK |
| Run the engine inside a browser app | TypeScript and WebAssembly |
| Place a viewport in your UI | Viewports |
| Process data without rendering | Automation |
| Add sandboxed workflows | Extensions |
| Discover statements and types | API reference |
Project state and scene state
Project objects are versioned. Operations on them participate in undo, redo, and project history. Scene shapes, camera controls, and other transient state are not saved as project data.
Understand the object model before choosing APIs for data your application must retain.
Shared projects
Connect the engine to SpatialDrive when you need shared storage, project history, and streaming. A native engine process and a SpatialDrive server have separate roles and configuration.
